While I'm less than convinced 8GB is sufficient for my needs, I'm more than prepared to give 16gb a shot. My desktop often uses around 40-42gb of ram, usually taken up by various background services. With the efficiencies on the M1, I'm relatively sure that I can get by with the 16gb, which was concerning to me.

While I don't think my personal workload/flow will fit in 8gb model, mostly because I'm running a number of separate databases and services to support my development, it doesn't surprise me at all that a great many would find 8gb sufficient.

I do wish that the laptops had a bit more key travel on the keyboard though. The 2009-2014 models had a better kb imho.
